www.DIYSolarPowerGuides.com – For those who wish to go green (solar or wind energy for the home) but can’t afford the lump sum it typically costs up front; give the do-it-yourself option a try for a small investment of just for instructions & plans. Also check out the true benefits of solar energy and how it’s applied, these systems are becoming more common and more affordable throughout the US and the rest of the world.
Over the past decades solar energy costs have been decreasing as manufacturing processes improve. At the same time fossil fuels become slowly more scarce and therefore more expensive. At some point there will be price parity and then solar will start becoming less expensive than fossil fuels.
Anyone have any good data on when this may occur?
(I’m looking for general times, like "this decade" – 50 years, 100 years, etc)
Thanks
Why don’t the countries of the middle east take the profits that they are making on oil and reinvest that into a wind/Solar/Hyrdogen economy. They have the perfect land for solar panels and windmills, deserts. And they have access to ocean water (salt water) to product hydrogen. They could now take advantage of these and "corner the market" on wind/solar/hydrogen economy before the rest of the world catches on. Additionally they could use the solar energy to pump the remaining oil from the ground and make even more money from it. They could also use this technology to desalinize the water and make an easier life for themselves.
