does anyone know of a good website that can show me how to rig up a solar panel, battery and inverter to power a few energy saver light globes (say 10-15 watt each), in my house? thanks
and i was thinking of using a car battery for power storage, is this appropriate? what are the possible limitations of doing this, are there any hazards?

I want to major in a field that will pretty much guarantee me a research and development job in wind energy. I am not interested in any other forms of alternative energy, so a general renewable energy bachelor’s won’t do. Any help?

I saw an episode in extreme makeover home edition were they built a house for a family and they used solar energy to power the house I like that not just because is good for the envirorment but because I think is better for us too, If we take care of the Earth we live in I think is going to last more.

Take a bunch of solar cells, put them on top of the roof of the car, link them with the car battery. Leave the fuel-system as a backup/secondary energy source. And you’ve yourself a fuel-saving environment-friendly car.
Sound easy enough to do, right? Then why don’t we see those on the road?
Don’t forget that the solar panels are linked to the battery. This means that when the car is parked, it gets charged up. So I don’t see what people ‘re complaining about.
It’s perfect for people who intensely use their car to get to work/school. The only time they need their car is in the morning and in the evening. During the day the car has plenty of time to charge up.
