Is Ethanol the answer? I read that Brazil is using sugar cane for bio-fuel. Be it corn, soybeans, or sugar cane, growing bio-fuels will strongly deplete our soils without using heavy fertilizers.Can we possibly harness wind and solar power for all our energy sources? Some of these technologies may exist, but they are not being allowed to be used. Even a car that runs on water.

Also, what’s the solar panel’s rate of producing electricity?

We want to have built a solar/green/eco friendly home about 30 miles west of Portland, Oregon, in the country. I need an architect who is not too fancy and doesn’t overcharge, but is competent, has contacts, experienced, and good ideas for folks who choose not the mainstream but something beautiful and unique. We want the house built only to sheetrock as we want to do much of the inside/finishing work ourselves. We read Mother Earth Mag and like the back-to-basics things we see in there.
