solar energy?

we have to conduct an experiment regarding conversion of energy…it involves converting solar energy to electrical energy…we were given solar plats…how the experiment could be conducted and what could be the reasonable variables??

Solar panels are semiconductor devices that sensitive to electromagnetic radiation. The amount of energy harvested will be proportional to the incident solar radiation. The incident flux will depend upon the time of day, angle of elevation of the panel, the direction of the panel, and shade from clouds or vegetation. The sensitivity of the device will depend upon the temperature and wavelength. There are too many variables to control everything outside of a lab environment, so I would advise working with those that you can control – specifically the direction and angle of elevation of the panels. These can be calculated based on your latitude, but it may be interesting to discover the optimal values for your location by experiment. Good luck.

You could test the running of a toy car by solar panels as you control group and a running of a toy car on spark plug as a variable group. You can say that the solar energy was only 30% effective because 70% less joules of energy were given off by the meters of the solar panel squared
